Trying to decide if we should do the Easter bunny thing or not. We went ahead and did it, but the kids didn't really care. We didn't give them any gifts besides new socks. But of course there was candy and then there was crankiness! I decided that next year we will put coins in their eggs, and then maybe 2 or 3 with candy. Then I can let them eat ALL their candy and not care because it won't be very much. Aside from that, I have been thinking about doing that on Saturday morning and then doing something special on Sunday. I love the sunrise idea. Or maybe go walk around the temple grounds. Or even as simple as make a yummy breakfast and then read scriptures about our Savior.
But so true, every child is different and each one, each generation, each family has different needs and struggles.Cindy Spratlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15808648110751599664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-744164977568615255.post-76636117028585019222012-04-25T13:42:36.725-06:002012-04-25T13:42:36.725-06:00Great ideas from Marisa. Full of fun and ...i love your traditions Marissa. Full of fun and substance and candy! We also have the tradition of watching the sunrise easter morning, but so far it is also tradition to accidently sleep in and miss the sunrise. I'm gonna definately read over your comment again and plan see how some of that can be applied to our family. Thanks a bunch.

AmieAmie Ortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09641784524076611459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-744164977568615255.post-59589012269418135022012-04-24T15:27:07.350-06:002012-04-24T15:27:07.350-06:00I hear ya on the whole Easter Bunny thing. We started a tradition of going camping on Good Friday (which you can do in Texas spring). We do our Easter egg hunt while camping--plastic eggs filled with goodies (not all sweet) that we "crack" open into a bowl to make trail mix to share. The kids know full well that I'm the one hiding the eggs. Then Easter morning (back at home) we do a sunrise picnic breakfast, where we talk about the atonement and resurrection. Then we give them the Easter basket. This is one large basket that is for the whole family. It has something for everyone along with a little bit of candy. This year we got them scripture hero trading cards and puzzles. We've always just skimmed over the fact but this year we told them it was from us.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01109024433085385460noreply@blogger.com
